Construction of the open-air stage was an order by the Local Government of Dobele Municipality, and the construction works were factually carried out by the company SIA "Igate Būve" which had submitted the cheapest price and won the procurement “Construction of the open-air stage in Krimūna Parish, Dobele Municipality”.
“The object is interesting both with its retro or “vintage” architectural solution and with that it can be quickly assembled using glued beam structures. Practically the construction does not have two identical, and it was a big challenge for the manufacturer and assemblers, but it makes us sure that glued timber is the perfect material for the creation of complex structures like this one. Almost any type of linking can be done even upon assembling”. Andrejs Domkins, director of “Forest and Wood Products Research Institute” (SIA MeKA).
“Heads of other municipalities and parishes, cultural and public event organisers are welcome to visit this open-air stage because it is an excellent, technologically innovative solution which is traditional and modern at the same time. It is also essential that, taking into account the stages built in other parishes where costs was of about 150-200 thousand euro or more, this stage is financially the most rational choice. “It's a smart and contemporary solution for a small locality where it is not required to build monumentally epic constructions”.
“Wooden structure project of such a kind is unique for Latvian construction industry, and it`s realisation would not be impossible without IKTK industrial research solutions.” J. Kuļikovskis, representative of SIA "Igate Būve" and the Krimūnas stage’s construction manager.
After the preliminary procurement, the price for construction of the stage from three applicant was of 97 469 EUR, and its construction is associated with a project financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
