In summer of 2016, four 6-meter and three 8-meter pedestrian bridges and 3 planked footways were made in cooperation with MEKA, Ltd.
The bridges were made of impregnated raw material, and also got impregnated after gluing the beams. In addition, each bridge has its own finish: oil, lasure or other wood protection layers.
Each bridge is like a laboratory in the forest, just like the bridge in Tervete, but in a smaller scale. Each month MEKA, Ltd carries out visual monitoring of each bridge, checks moisture content, temperature and screw connections to gather on-site information about operational properties of the end structure.
The pedestrian bridges are located now in Langervalde forest in Jelgava Municipality and are publicly accessible.
