The first and one of a kind timber-concrete composite bridge located in Jaunpils.
The timber-concrete composite bridge replaced an old bridge built in the 1960-s that was a simple concrete panel construction.
Another thing that makes this bridge special is its design, because it is designed inspired by a Norwegian timber bridge building tradition that involves using high grade strength graded timber that is impregnated according to a NTR class, flowed by drying and finally high pressure creosote (Type C) treatment. The estimated life span for such timber bridges in Norway are 100 years!
At this moment this is the only timber-concrete composite bridge in the nation road network.
The bridge construction assembly was done by Rigas Tilti Ltd.
